User's notes
A tufty grass with relatively short leaves in contrast with the extremely long flowerhead stems. Photos were taken late October when seed heads and stems were very dry. A common sighting locally.
Photo 1 shows the base of the plant, photo 2 shows most of the seed heads, and photo 3 is the of the longest (and clearest!) seedhead, from a plant growing behind the featured plant.
