A large old gum, possibly a blood wood, maybe even a red blood wood? It flowered profusely from December and into Jan (photo 1), as did a large number of trees with a similar finely rough bark. Photo 3 shows the 1st bifurcation into major branches. Photo 2 gives an overall impression of the entire tree, and photo 4 tries to capture as much of the lower trunk as possible. It had been relatively dry, and moderately hot, from mid November to late December when these photos were taken. I wonder if these conditions contributed to the better than average flowering.
