A flat pale pastel green lichen growing on a small tree trunk. There are several of these and similar looking variants locally, especially noticeable given current rains. This looks to have unusually rough edges to the older growth in the centre (photo 1). I’m wondering if this is a change that precedes the formation of fruiting bodies, which would make it possibly the same Sp as at Sighting 022 . Photo 3 is for context. In looking back at similar Sightings (eg 4647896) I am now starting to wonder if this is a single species of lichen with changes in appearance at different life stages. It will be interesting to see if clumps of black ‘hairy’ structures appear after some more time, to establish a more complete similarity with Sighting 4647896.
