Common locally in the warmest months, this is a medium large black fly with a striking green metallic sheen all over, except fot the eyes which are red-brown. The eyes appear to be surrounded by a fine line of white, (photos 3 & 4), and the legs are black. Wings are clear with no noticed markings. This was perched on a fragrant flowered vine, Common Silkpod, (Parsoonia straminea), the subject of sighting 4640075. The fly itself may be a bluebottle blowfly, possibly same Sp. as at sighting 014 ?
