User's notes

This ?grasshopper? appears to shares some features with locusts, but it also has some other features which either make it different, or just puts it at younger stage of development. Overall it is a bright green with some solid bands of green around the abdomen, alternating with what look like bands of a yellower green peppered with fine black flecks. There are 2 fine black discontinuous lines running parallel along the mid dorsal surface of the abdomen. The thorax has what looks like the type of plate(s) surrounding its top half that I associate more with locusts (eg sighting 4635617). The colour of this varies from the richer greens to the yellower greens of the abdomen, and appear mottled but without any obvious black in the mix. The top surface of the upper rear legs have a black line marking their outer edge, and have 2 or 3 black marks on them, (similar to the grasshopper at sighting 4672681) and the joint with next lower leg segment is circled in black on the side, again reminding me of that joint on a locust. The eyes are more blue-than green, legs a bright rich green and the feet are black. Photo 2 is for context. This could be the same Sp as that of sighting 4672719 Stubs of wings are visible and a darker green colour.
